<p>Patricia "Pat" Dodd, age 84 of Monticello, died Friday, March 8, 2024 at St. Benedict's Assisted Living in Monticello. Funeral services will be held&nbsp;at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 15th&nbsp;at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood with Rev. Mark Manning officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Grove Lake Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.&nbsp; </p><p>Patricia Ann Dodd was born on May 7, 1939, in St. Charles, Illinois, to parents Oliver and Eleanor (Swanson) Thompson.&nbsp;Pat's early years were spent in St. Charles, where she attended a local country school. Pat was united in marriage to Charles Carl and together, they we blessed with three children. Their time together was brief with Charles's passing after five years of marriage. </p><p>Pat married once more to Edward Dodd and was blessed with a son. They made their home on a farm near Brooten and later moved to the Bertha/Wadena area and eventually Verdi. The couple later divorced. In the latter part of her life, Pat relocated to St. Benedict's Assisted Living to be closer to her granddaughter and family.&nbsp; </p><p>Throughout her life, Pat worked various jobs in housekeeping. Pat's interests were a reflection of her love for the outdoors and her community. She had a passion for feeding and watching the birds, and she cherished the moments spent sitting outside, visiting with neighbors and friends. She also found great pleasure in fishing, a pastime that allowed her to soak in the beauty of nature. </p><p>Her love for animals was evident in the special bond she shared with her dog Lucky and cat Tommy. They were not just pets but companions that brought her comfort and happiness. </p><p>She is survived by her children: Debbie (Lyle) Fettig of Grove Lake, Vern Carl of Pipestone, Terry (Marsha) Carl of Sioux Falls, SD, and Allen Dodd of Bruce, SD. Pat's love multiplied with the addition of her grandchildren: Trish, Lindsay, Lacy, Jason, Angie, Ashlee, Tiffany, Brittany, Samantha, Dustin, and Ryan; her 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life. Pat also leaves behind her caring sister, Bonnie Poole, and her brother, Wayne (Linda) Thompson, along with her half-siblings, Michael Hederas and Judy Mitchell.&nbsp; </p><p>She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Eleanor, and her husbands, Charles Carl and Edward Dodd. </p>
