Gary W. Quast, age 73, of Faribault, died on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis following a brief illness.

Memorial services will be at Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. with Bernadette Tatge, officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Gary W., the son of Roland and Grace (Long) Quast was born on May 9, 1950 in Faribault. He graduated from Waterville Elysian High School in 1968. Gary married Tamara (Castle) Hatfield on October 13, 1984 at Peace Lutheran Church, Faribault.

Gary worked for McQuay/Daikin Applied in Faribault for many years. He especially enjoyed gardening, carpentry and deer hunting on the family farm with his brother, Bruce and nephew, Chad Quast.

Survivors include his wife, Tamara; children, Eric (Sarah) Hatfield of Faribault, Nathan (Emily) Quast of LeCenter, Joshua Quast and Katie Quast both of Faribault; nine grandchildren; brothers, Darryl (Tami) Quast and Bruce Quast both of Morristown; twin sister, Cathy (Rodney) Sprau of Elkton; sisters, Donna Morching of Waterville, Patricia Gregor (Curt Roemhildt) of LeCenter and Carol (Doug Nicolai) Quast of Morristown; father in law, William Castle of Faribault; brothers in law, Steven (Sheila) Castle of Faribault, Todd Castle of Colorado and Jay Ugland of Faribault; sister in law, Cynthia (Stephen) Larson of Faribault; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Holly Quast; parents, Roland and Grace Quast; grandparents; twin sisters in infancy, Karen and Sharen Quast; brother, Robert Quast; mother in law, Carol Castle; brother in law, David Morching; sisters in law, Julie Johnston Ugland and Theresa Castle.

Gary’s family would like to express their gratitude for all the help and kind words they received during Gary’s illness. They are also grateful for the care he received from the doctors and nurses at Mayo Clinic and Allina Health Faribault Medical Center and Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
