Bobby Joe Leister
<p>Bobby Joe Leister passed away March 10th at age 83. He was born Oct. 27th1940 to Robert Leister & Lorene Buck Leister in Altus, Oklahoma. Bobby served 3 years in the military with 14 months in Korea. He married Mary Sue Spittles Dec. 2nd, 1961- later divorcing. To this union they had 4 Children. Scott, Abilene, Dirk (Alana) Wichita and Wendy Surritte (David) Abilene and a daughter Melissa who died at birth. Bobby married Harriet Welton Leister in 1974 gaining 3 stepchildren. Robert, Don and Danny Beeler.</p><p>Bobby spent 4 years as a Police officer and Fireman in Junction City, KS. He also owned a service station and was owner of Security Fence Company in JC from 1977-1986. He then went to work at Ft. Riley from 1986-2013 retiring as Union President. He did computer repair and worked on target devices.</p><p>Bobby was preceded in death by his daughter Melissa, late wife, sister MaryEllen and daughter-n-law Sherry, stepchildren Robert and Don Beeler. He is survived by his brother Gary (Theresa) Leister Chapman, Kansas, sister Sue Jasper Amarillo, TX his children and 5 Grandchildren Charlotte, Justin and Savannah Leister, Braydon and Dawson Surritte. 6 step grandchildren, Daniel, Ana live in MO, Bobby Joe (FL) and Jason Pipes (April) of Abilene, Jolina Boland and Tara Waymire. and 2 great granddaughters, nieces and nephews.</p><p>The family has chosen cremation and graveside services will be at a later date at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery</p>Obituary
