Brenda Gurney Tynes

“Gram”

Brenda G. Tynes, of Grangeville, was born July 22, 1953. She passed away Friday, March 8, 2024, at the age of 70. Our mama, better known as “Gram” to all that loved her so much. She was a wife, mama, aunt, sister, grandmother, and friend to so many. The matriarch of our family. An avid lover of Elvis, laughter, chocolate, red roses, and the color blue.

“I love you a bushel and a peck…”

Brenda is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ray M. Tynes, her parents, Norma Gayle Jones, Jimmy O. Jones, and Bobby Gurney, and her sister, Lynda V. Rayburn.

She is survived by her children; Nicholas R. Tynes, and girlfriend Morgan Creel. Rachel M. Tynes, son in law Ashton Guidry, and their children, Tynes, Dane, and Micah Bradley Guidry. Nephew; David Gurney and Andi Elizabeth Gurney. Sisters; DeeDee Fleniken, Barbara Lee McMorris, Annette Jones, along with several nieces and nephews.

We will celebrate our mama with a memorial service on Thursday, March 14, 2024, she and our daddy’s 43rd wedding anniversary, at Bluff Creek Baptist Church beginning at 12 pm, with lunch to follow in the fellowship hall. Please send any food prepared for the family to the fellowship hall.
