Nancy Adele Blatnik Obituary

Nancy Adele Blatnik, 72, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2024. Born in Fountain Hill on March 27, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Edith (Batches) Strawn.

A proud graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1969, Nancy extended her passion for learning at Northampton Community College before earning her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Kutztown University. Her dedication to children's growth and well-being shone brightly throughout her 37 years teaching elementary school for her whole career at James Buchanan Elementary School for the Bethlehem Area School District.

Nancy's commitment to her community was reflected in her lifelong membership at the former Grace Lutheran Church in Bethlehem and active involvement with the Pennsylvania State Education Association. She served as Buchanan’s representative for the Bethlehem Education Association.

With a heart as immense as her smile, Nancy was the beloved wife of Charles "Charlie" L. Blatnik, sharing 47 wonderful years of marriage. She cherished her love of her many miniature schnauzers, currently Toby and Maggie. Nancy enjoyed the simple moments spending time with her canine children.

The gift of Friendship was so important to Nancy.  She engaged in many activities with her friends. Going on vacations, shopping with friends, and sharing a meal were truly special times for Nancy.  Nancy was considered to be a number one fan of Tommy Zito, the piano man, and could often be found dancing the night away. Yet, above all else, Nancy's greatest joy was being surrounded by her beloved friends.
