<p>Gerald Raymond Newberry, age 58, of the Pine Creek section of Swords Creek, Virginia passed away Saturday morning, March 9, 2024 in a Richlands, Virginia hospital. Born September 20, 1965 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Paul Raymond and Dorothy Thelma Plaster Newberry. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a 1983 graduate of Honaker High School. He had been employed as a welder and was an old car and Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoyed time spent with his family and friends, especially his grandson. </p><p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Tammy Street Newberry; two sisters, Rita Pruitt and Angela Rose Newberry; paternal grandparents, Alvie and Mae Newberry and maternal grandparents, Charlie and Rosa Plaster.</p><p>Survivors include his wife, Koreen Potter Newberry; one daughter, Tiara Newberry Davis and husband, Michael of Clintwood, Virginia; grandson, Maverick Davis of Clintwood, Virginia; sister, Connie Richardson and husband, David of Pounding Mill, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews also survive.</p><p>Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. </p><p>Pallbearers will be Chris Rowe, Jason Rowe, Justin Rowe, Rodney Justus, Brian Keen and Matthew Street.</p><p>The family will receive friends at Honaker Funeral Home after 6 PM on Monday.</p><p><br></p>
