Frank S. "Frankie" Sposito Obituary

Frank “Frankie” S. Sposito, 75, of South Scranton passed away peacefully Friday March 8, 2024 at Geisinger C.M.C. surrounded by his family. He would have celebrated his 76th birthday on March 22nd. He was preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life, the former Mary Ann Sinkaus. Sharing a love so pure and true from the young age of 15, they will be eternally reunited again.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Charles “Cuppy” and Rose Renda Sposito. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, Class of 1967. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the PA Gas & Water Co.

Frank was fun loving, feisty and adored by everyone he met. He was one of the bravest, strongest most resilient man to be known. His greatest joy was his family; a family that will greatly miss his stories, sense of humor, witty sarcasm and his often comical words of wisdom. Frank was a devoted father, and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were his world. He took so much pride and joy in his grandkids, he was definitely one proud pop and enjoyed spending time with all of them. Frank also loved and adored his pets unconditionally, no doubt he will be missed dearly by his fur babies, Matilda, Lola and Jax.

Frank had a special interest and appreciated all types of electronics from simple gadgets to gaming systems, computers, etc. He enjoyed spending time watching movies, game shows and older shows, Bonanza and the Andy Griffith Show being his favorites. He also enjoyed watching and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers, being an avid Steelers fan all of his life. He had a love for history and enjoyed reading and fishing to pass time. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff on the PCU Unit at Geisinger C.M.C for their compassion and care. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Ferdinand Manahan, we are very grateful for his attentive care and kindness going above and beyond over the past few years.

Surviving are 3 daughters; Michele Rabbito, Lori and husband Ron Capone and Kim Sposito and fiancé Christopher McPhillips, all of Scranton, 5 grandchildren; Anthony Rabbito and wife Nichole, Tyler Rabbito and fiancé Emily Fox, and Collin Rabbito and Ashley and Kayley Capone; sisters Carolyn Lee and husband Donald, Patricia Poveromo and husband Jeff, and Marie Gallagher and husband Dennis; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held to honor his memory and the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched and all the cherished memories he leaves behind. His legacy of love and kindness will endure in our hearts forever.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM in Nativity of Our Lord Church, St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 633 Orchard St., Interment Cathedral Cemetery. Family and friends may call Monday morning 9-10 am in the church before mass begins.
