Steven Placido

Steven T. “Steve-o” Placido, 57, of Albion, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his daughters. He was born on Feb 23, 1967, in Columbus, Indiana.

Steve attended St. Henry Grade School and Bishop Luers High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but graduated from Noblesville High School in 1985. He played golf on the golf team and then attended Purdue University.  He was the greens superintendent at Augusta Hills Golf Course in Albion, Indiana, for 20 years.

Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and being involved in his grandkids sporting events. He was also an avid fan of the Indianapolis 500, Miami Dolphins and the Purdue Boilermakers. Steve also had a special gift of always helping others and putting everyone before himself.

Steve is survived by his parents, Robert and Nancy Placido; daughters, Randi Coney, Kady (Devon) Williams and Amber Black; grandchildren, Reece and Grace Shellman, and Rudy and Rory Williams; siblings, Robert Placido Jr., Donna (Eric) Pedersen and Kathy Brown; along with many family and friends who loved him dearly.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Madeline Weigand; and his son-in-law, Matt Coney.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, with visitation one hour prior.

Visitation will also be from 3-7 p.m., on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Avilla Cemetery.
