Anita Minichini Obituary

In loving memory of Anita Minichini (nee Caposiena), a cherished mother, grandmother, and educator, who peacefully passed away on March 8, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Anita, aged 97, spent her final years in Carlstadt, but her heart remained deeply rooted in Newark, where she was born and raised, having lived there for 92 years. Anita dedicated 35 years of her life as a compassionate teacher's aide at First Avenue School in Newark, leaving a mark on countless children's lives before gracefully retiring at the age of 75. Family was paramount to Anita, and she found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was baking Christmas cookies, crafting delicious zeppoles, or engaging in arts and crafts with her loved ones. Anita had a fervent passion for tracing her ancestry, meticulously collecting information spanning generations of her family lineage. Her family will forever cherish her pearls of wisdom, her spirited sense of humor, her boundless kindness, and her unwavering compassion. Anita is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alfonse Minichini, her late son-in-law, Terrence Nichols, and her dear siblings, the late Leonard Caposiena and his wife Lucy, and Lillian Lombard and her husband Frank. She is survived by her loving children, Beverly Nichols and John Minichini and his wife Lori, as well as her adored grandchildren, Gina Minichini and Lisa Minichini, along with numerous cherished nieces and nephews. In honoring Anita's memory, let us celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to family. She will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of warmth and affection.
