Obituary

Maria Chrisidis of Millis, Massachusetts and Naxos, Greece passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2024. Maria was born in Athens, Greece on November 21, 1951. She was the daughter of Vassilios and Vasiliki Koufopoulos.

Maria is survived by her children Vassiliki and Yanni, her grandchildren Demitri, Talia, Elefterios and Athanasios, by her sister Margarita and her husband Peter Shields, and her nephews and nieces and other relatives in both Massachusetts and Greece.

Maria was the life of the party….and she really loved parties!  Everyone was drawn to her vibrant energy because she was the essence of fun and made everyone around her laugh.  She enjoyed dancing nonstop…. really nonstop!!!  She also enjoyed her daily exercise which was swimming at her favorite beach, Agios Prokopios in Naxos.

When in Millis, in between hanging out with her grandchildren, she loved being at Marshall’s and T J Maxx looking for a good deal with her sister Margarita.

She loved eating all the good American food such as hotdogs, ice cream, birthday cake, her son’s famous clam chowder, and her children’s pizza since it did not exist in Greece. But, most of all, Maria loved her family.  She was a kind and gentle soul who was completely devoted to her children and grandchildren.

The family will receive guests at Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street, Medfield, MA 02052, on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 3:30 PM until 6:30 PM.  Visiting hours will conclude with a memorial prayer service beginning at 6:00 PM
