<p>Sandra Owens was born on October 20, I 961 in Hardinsburg, Kentucky to Catherine Owens of Yemassee, South Carolina and the late William Henry Owens of Hardinsburg, Kentucky.</p><p><br></p><p>Tete, as she was affectionately known was raised in South Carolina before relocating to Boston, Massachusetts. She attended Chelsea Middle School and later graduated from Charlestown High School.</p><p><br></p><p>Sandra was a hard worker who over the years obtained employment with the Marian Manor Nursing Home, Family Dollar, Italian Home for Children and the Boston Public School System where she worked as a bus monitor until falling ill in 2008.</p><p><br></p><p>Always the "life of the party", Tete's home was the gathering place for many - she enjoyed having a good time amongst her family and friends, cooking, laughing and having a good time. These things brought her so much joy! During her final years she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and reading.</p><p><br></p><p>Tete was a caretaker who felt great joy in being there and doing for others. She had a selfless, generous and nurturing spirit - oftentimes putting others before herself. Her home was a safe haven for so many and through the years she housed anyone that came to her in need of shelter. No matter the rhyme, reason, day or time - if you needed or wanted to stop by, you'd be welcomed with open arms and by the time you left- you'd have a stomach full of food and boisterous laughter.</p><p><br></p><p>On February 26, 2024 Sandra was called into her eternal rest to be with her heavenly father and beloved son Christopher Owens.</p><p><br></p><p>To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her four children Crystal Perez [son in-law, Darryl, William Owens, Tyray Owens and Chandra Owens. Mother, Catherine Owens; Siblings Carl Owens, Terry Owens, Patricia Owens, Keisha Gilmore, Antonio Gilmore, Jacqueline Gilmore, Kenny Gilmore, Charles Gilmore, and Gloria Weathersby. Grandchildren, Lakhya, William, TrueLove, Cary, Jai, Elias, Isaiah and Maddox , great-granddaughter Azorah as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
