Altes Homicil Obituary

Altes Homicil was born on January 18, 1939, in Port Margot, a commune in the Borgne Arrondissement, in the Nord department of Haiti. He was the fifth of nine children of the late Cineas Homicil and Tertulia Petit Joseph. Ata very young age, he left Port Margot establish himself in Cap Haitian, where he spent most of his youth and entire adult life until the last few months before his passing at Boston Medical Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts .

God was at his side; he naturally had a great heart and enjoyed serving people; even before he came to Christ, he used to support many activities and projects that he judged helpful for the community.

He was a kind husband and a great dad who would do anything to provide for his family. He has left behind his lovely wife, 8children,Rophy Homicil , Rostande Homicil, Carl Evans Homicil, Harly Homicil Vanessa Homicil, Woudly Homicil, Altes Junior Homicil Cynthia Homicil, two brothers Rev. Joseph C Homicil, Rev. Nicolas Homicil and11grandchildren who have received the blessings of their grandfather. His love for his children was remarkable.

Uncle Altes was very disciplined and a great administrator, two qualities among many he possessed that made him a successful businessman with many years of experience. He was spontaneous, had a great sense of humor, knowledgeable about his craft, and, most importantly, was very creative.

At a younger age, in his past time, he enjoyed riding his bike and going to the movies. However, he was always an early bird. He would pray, meditate on the word, and start working immediately. He liked listening to the radio, especially the news, and his comments always ended with some positive and upbeat notes.

He was very optimistic and always looked at the bright side of things; he was patient and kind, a great advisor, and someone who was not afraid to share his experiences with anyone who dreamed of launching a business.

Altes was a philanthropist; he has supported many organizations, several religious campaigns, and leaders throughout his life. Some of the organizations he has helped include the Wesleyan churches in northern Haiti at Port Margot, Trou-du-Nord, Petit-Anse, and Cap Haitian, in particular, where he was an active member since he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and got baptized in the early 90's. He was an active of the COPROCAT of Radio 4VEH, to mention a few.

Altes left us to join his Creator after a battle with an illness that urged him to seek treatment in Boston, MA. As a fervent servant of The Living God, we know he is in a better place where his sufferings have ended. We are also sure that his memories will last with us for a long time, and his shared values will continue to impact many in our family, community, and churches.
