Barbara "Skeeter" Jean Ehler
<p>EHLER, Barbara Jean "Skeeter", age 92, passed away on Thursday, March7, 2024.</p><p><br></p><p>Skeeter was a native Daytonian; she graduated Fairview High School, Wittenberg University, and Mayo Clinic School of Physical Therapy in Rochester, Minnesota. She worked as a licensed physical therapist for the Montgomery County Public Health Department for 42 years and was in charge of the Physical Therapy Department until her retirement in 1997. Skeeter was a life long member of the American Physical Therapy Association and active in the West Central District. She was also an active, lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church in downtown Dayton. </p><p><br></p><p>In her retirement she enjoyed volunteering in the church office. Skeeter was an avid gardener and was an "herbie" - volunteering in the herb garden at Cox Arboretum. </p><p><br></p><p>She will be truly missed by her many friends and especially by her housemate and best friend Jean Burton. </p><p><br></p><p>In keeping with Skeeter's wishes to not have a formal service, friends will briefly gather at the at David Cemetery Scattering Garden at noon on Friday, March 22, 2024.
