BARRE- Norma "Sonja" Zonia,86, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2024.

Sonja was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on December 23, 1937, to Egan and Christina Bilde. Sonja was a longtime woman business owner of Sonja's Wig Salon in Worcester, Massachusetts. She built her business with dedication and care, serving her community with gentleness and skill. Despite her tough and independent demeanor, Sonja had a deep love for animals, especially her Maltese, Bella.

In her final days, she found solace in nature, often sitting outside in the sun with her beloved dog, watching the birds.

Sonja was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Haas, and her brother, Eddie Bilde. She is survived by her children: John Pease and his wife Cathy of Templeton, MA, Sonja Blaney (Pease) and her husband Michael of Barre, MA, and Bill Pease and his wife Gail of West Boylston, MA, as well as her stepson Jim Haas and his wife Karen of Gilroy, CA, and her brother Hans Hendrik Bilde of Denmark.Sonja had her eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and found joy in every moment spent with them.

Sonja's spirit will live on in the memories of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her unwavering love of animals and fashionable and youthful spirit.

Friends and family are invited to attend a calling hour on Wednesday, March 20,2024 from 10-11AM in Pillsbury Funeral Home 96 S.Barre Rd. Barre. The service will follow at 11AM in the funeral home.May she rest in peace.
