<p>Marilyn Bernadine Vitacca, nee Pihl, age 94, passed away on March 6, 2024 after a short illness. </p><p><br></p><p>Marilyn was born on September 1, 1929 to Harry and Gertrude Pihl. She spent most of her life living in the Orland Park area. Marilyn had a long career as a Registered Nurse at Palos Community Hospital. She provided love and support to all. Marilyn cared deeply for her family, friends and faith. She enjoyed Bible study, yoga and ballroom dancing with her husband Leonard prior to his death. She was very independent for her age. </p><p><br></p><p>Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Gertrude Pihl, her brother Richard Pihl, her husband Leonard Vitacca, and her son John Braasch. She is survived by her daughter Paula (Larry) Cox, her step-daughters Catherine Vitacca and Rosemary Vitacca, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. </p><p><br></p><p>A Celebration of Life Service will take place on <b>Saturday, March 23, 2024</b> at The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 7800 West McCarthy Road, Palos Heights, IL 60463 at 10:30 a.m. </p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the church in Marilyn's memory.</p><p><br></p><p>Express your thoughts and condolences at colonialchapel.com 708-532-5400</p><p><br></p>
