John Odd Heath, age 83, of 720 Jefferson Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at his residence.

John was born on April 17, 1940 in Taunton, Massachusetts to the late Ivan Merrel Heath and Ethel Gladys L’Heureux Christy. He was a retired Communications Specialist for the United States Air Force and was a family-oriented person. He loved Chihuahua’s, reading, watching Westerns, following politics, and moonshine.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Jane Phillips Heath, and three brothers, Richard Heath, Ivan Heath, and William Heath.

He is survived by his daughter, Zelda Nichole Heath Salisbury of Clifton Forge; three sons, Johnathan E. Heath of Virginia Beach, David M. Heath of South Korea, and John L. Heath and wife Tracie of Woodbridge; a sister, Sandra Heath of Massachusetts; a brother, James Terry of Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Megan, Anthony, Crystal, Cody, Michael, Nicolas, Madison, and Rogan; twelve great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A family will visit with friends on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. Following the visitation, the body will be cremated. The cremains will be interred in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Chesapeake at a later date.
