A dear brother, uncle, friend, entrepreneur, and politico has passed into eternal life. Bruce Melucci, a life-long Providence resident, former haberdasher & men's clothing store owner, and loyal Chief Mayoral Aide in the Joseph R. Paolino Jr., and Vincent A. Cianci Administrations, died at Dawn Hill Healthcare & Rehab Center in Bristol on Thursday, March 7, 2024, following a period of declining health. A prominent citizen and somewhat 'colorful character' he was well known throughout Federal Hill and the East Side where he frequently strolled the streets endearing himself to many along the way.

Born on April 30,1943, Bruce was a son of the late Francis and Emily (Don Francesco) Melucci, both of whom died at a young age during Bruce's childhood, leaving him to be raised by his beloved aunt and uncle, Lena and Eddy Melucci. He is survived by his brother, Dennis Melucci of Johnston, and three nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his longtime companion, Nancy Hart, and many friends and associates.

Bruce was a brilliant political strategist who garnered national attention for his work in the Cianci Administration. He was a lover of both Jazz & Country Music, Art, Politics, good food, and fine (red) wine. An excellent cook, he especially loved to prepare for the revered Italian Christmas Eve tradition of the Feast of the Seven Fishes. In addition, he was a life-long reader, student of current events and the world stage, and travelled extensively in his earlier years.

Most recently, he was an engaged and very active member of the Dawn Hill community, serving as an assistant in a variety of capacities in the Activities Program, including providing informative talks & instructional cooking sessions/demonstrations for fellow residents and staff. He maintained a regimen of daily exercise and 'sun worshiping', weather permitting!

Along with his many & varied accomplishments, quick wit, worldliness, dapper dress, and overall uniqueness, Bruce will be fondly remembered by all whose paths he crossed.
