Patrick J. Kauffman

Patrick “Pat” J. Kauffman, Jr., 81, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at his residence.

He was born in Lancaster to the late Patrick J. and Margaret (Grace) Kauffman, Sr. and was the husband of Vicenta (Sael) Kauffman.

In 1972, he married the love of his life, Vicenta; they shared 51 years of loving marriage. In 1960, Patrick joined the U.S. Army, where he would go on to serve for over 20 years in the Army Secret Agency. During his time in the service, he traveled widely, including Vietnam twice, the Philippines, Germany, Korea, and Fort Gordon, Georgia, where he was an instructor. After his retirement, Patrick moved back to his native Lancaster. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four siblings, Margaret Hart, Eva, wife of Paul Benner, Anne, wife of Terry Zuver, Jeffrey, husband of Joyce Kauffman and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Joseph Kauffman.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 10 to 11 AM, at Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Avenue, Ephrata, followed by a Final Commendation and Farewell, at 12:30 PM, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, with Fr. Bob Harrison, C.Ss.R. officiating.
