Brenda Gayle Cook

Brenda Gayle Cook, 66, of Franklin NC, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Brenda was the daughter of the late Lloyd Cook and Edith Henry Lopes. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandchild, Baby Crisp; great grandchild; Baby Peavy. She was a native of Macon County and a member of Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church. She was a family person and especially loved her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, hiking, sports, gardening, and camping. She was a librarian for Macon County Schools for many years.

She is survived by two daughters, Anita Henry (Adam), Misty Crisp (Stephen); six grandchildren, Hunter Harper, Katlyn Peavy (Jesse), Cody Harper (Kelsy), Jessica Crisp, Clay Henry, Archer Henry; two great grandchildren, Sawyer Peavy, Nova Peavy; one future great grandchild, Bristol Harper; brother, Dean Cook (Glenda); one niece, Deanna Henry (Wayne) and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 12th at 2pm at Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Rick Potts will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm at the church, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Cody Harper, Adam Henry, Chris Tucker, Mike Lequire, Jamie Pendergrass, and Martin Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Cook, Hunter Harper, Christopher Tucker, Clay Henry, Archer Henry, and the members of the Cullasaja Fire Department.
