Constance T. Pickering Obituary

Constance T. (Hervieux) Pickering 93, formerly of Manville Rd, Woonsocket passed away peacefully Friday, March 1, 2024 at St Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Pickering. Constance was born in Woonsocket, the daughter of the late Rosario and Aurore (Lareau) Hervieux. Her first job was in the shoe factories of Milford, MA where she worked in the stitching department. She later worked in the lunch program for many years at Woonsocket High School as a cook’s helper before retiring. Constance had a zest for life, she loved the outdoors and was an avid camper. She and her family frequently went camping in their trailer at Fisherman’s Memorial Park in Narragansett. In her youth she loved to ski and later worked as a ski patroller at the Klein Innsbruck ski area in Franklin, MA Constance was also an avid swimmer and was a member of the Cumberland Boys and Girls Club. But her greatest joy was spending time with her seven grandchildren. Matt, Chris, Ben, Jon, Kyle, Brittany and Andy were the loves of her life, and they spent countless days at her house swimming in “Grandma’s pool” and having picnics and playing in her field and yard.

She is survived by her children: David Pickering and his wife Gail of Lincoln, Michael Pickering and his wife Frances of N. Chelmsford, MA, and Steven Pickering and his wife Michelle, of Cumberland, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
