Robert Earl Phillips Obituary

Mr. Robert Earl Phillips, a resident of Ozark, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in Flowers Hospital. He was 85 years old.

Funeral services for Mr. Phillips will be 2:00 P. M. Monday, March 11, 2024, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Joey Hudspeth officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark from 1:00 P. M. until service time.

Mr. Phillips was born Marh 24, 1938 in Clopton, Alabama to the late Robert Perry Phillips and Louise Whatley Phillips. He attended Ozark High School and worked with Southeast Gas Company. Later he was employed with Civil Service at Fort Rucker as a Planner-Estimator for thirty years until his retirement. Mr. Phillips loved to go hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and traveling with Dale. Mr. Robert could fix and build anything. He loved to make a garden and plant butterbeans.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Dale Williams Phillips of Ozark; three sons, Robert Dennis Phillips (Betty) of Ozark, Robert William Phillips (Amanda) of Headland; and Otice Derek Phillips of Malvern; three grandchildren, Bryan Phillips, Nikki Leatherwood (Shane) and Kent Phillips; two great grandchildren, Bryson Moates and Forrest Leatherwood; three sisters, Evelyn Fowler, Mary Boin and Connie Ethridge; and one brother, Edward Phillips.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Mr. Nelson Senn, 373 County Road 241, Ariton, Alabama 36311.
