<p>James C. "Jimmy" Bergeron, 89, a native of Glynn, Louisiana and resident of Napoleonville, Louisiana passed away on March 6, 2024.</p><p><br></p><p>A memorial visitation will be held in his honor on Friday, March 8, 2024 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Napoleonville, Louisiana from 8:30 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. The burial will follow at a later date.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jeanne Landry Bergeron; sons, Richard Bergeron (the late Elizabeth Bergeron), Tony Bergeron (Geraldine), and Tommy Bergeron (Laurie); grandchildren, Katherine Aucoin (Derek), Rusty Bergeron (Lisa), Mindy Bergeron, Katie Schexnayder (Scott), Richard Bergeron II (Alison), Taylor Bergeron, Jordan Bergeron, and Payten Bergeron; great-grandchildren, Derek J. "DJ" Aucoin II, Juliana Bergeron, Manning Bergeron, Dylan Bergeron, Scotty Schexnayder, Ty Bergeron, and Kenzie Schexnayder.</p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonce and May Prejean Bergeron; daughter, Arlene Bergeron Rousseau; brother, Leonce "Man" Bergeron; sisters, Lucy Bergeron Blanchard, Rose Mary Bergeron White, Laura Bergeron Kinniff, and Frances Bergeron Bearmann.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Jimmy opened Bergeron Meat Market in 1965. He was a dedicated business owner, working 7 days a week until he retired at age 85. After his sons took over the business, he and his wife, Jeanne enjoyed traveling and spending time together. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. In his retirement, he enjoyed watching old westerns and spending time with his family.
