John Thomas “Tommy” McBurnett, age 88, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on March 6, 2024. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 28, 1936, son of the late John W. McBurnett and the late Velia Cook McBurnett.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Bradford McBurnett; children: Lisa Bowman, Angie Pearson (John), Tammy McCall, James Thomas McBurnett (Heather); grandchildren: Trent Bowman, Elizabeth McBurnett, Kyle Dalton, Lauren Bowman, Marisa Brooks, Alix Spiess, Logan Landers; great-grandchildren; Asher McBurnett, Hailey Lopez, Presleigh Spiess, Hannah McBurnett, Dansby Spiess, Dax Oliver Spiess, Maggie Brooks, Aubree Bowman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers; son-in-law: James McCall.

The family will receive friends at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the funeral home on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Billy Gann officiating. Trent Bowman, James T. McBurnett, BJ Spiess, Jimmy Johnson, Teddy Brooks, John Pearson will serve as pallbearers.

Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Chapel.
