East Millinocket-Hudson - Gerald “ Jake” Austin Jr. Passed away peacefully at his home February 26th, 2024, with his companion of 3 years Jennifer Dow Wilson by his side. Jake was born July 24th, 1966, to Dola and Gerald Austin of East Millinocket. Jake Graduated from Schenck High School in 1984. After Graduating he went right into paving roads, where he met many friends along the way that he considered family. In 1998 Jake began his career with Lane Construction. During his 23-year career in the paving industry Jake’s work ethic was second

to none. Away from work you would find Jake spending time with his grandson Mason, fishing, snowmobiling, and watching UNC Tarheels.

Jake is survived by his mother Dola, His girlfriend Jennifer, stepdaughter Alison Wilson, daughter Melinda. Five sisters Marleen Austin, Candy Doblier, Ronda Merritt, Cathy Boyington and Fiancé Lloyd and Dawn Hutchins

husband Rick. One brother Stevie and wife Crystal. Many nieces and nephews. His paving brothers will always remember him and his sense of humor as he knew how to make work fun. Jake will be greatly missed by all

who knew him.
