Bonnie Jean Bilton

BILTON; BONNIE JEAN

Bonnie Jean Bilton, 73, of Elgin, died peacefully March 5th, 2024 at Kingston General Hospital with her family at her side. Thank you to the KGH staff and their compassion in ensuring Mom's comfort on her way to heaven. Bonnie was born March 1st, 1951 to Gwendolyn and Lawrence Malcolm and grew up with 6 dear siblings on the family dairy farm in Nestleton, ON. Bonnie studied Math at University of Toronto and Queen's University and graduated with a BA in 1973. Mom raised her family of 9 children in Delta, ON and instilled in them an appreciation for the value of education, with unwavering perseverance and good humour. Our childhood was blessed by Mom's faith and love, which we pass on to 17 grandchildren. In Bonnie's retired years, she moved from the family home to Elgin. She cherished her community and we are grateful for the friends and activities that made her so happy. She engaged fully with church, coffee club, euchre club, luncheons and computer classes at the library. "Hi Bonnie" was a constant greeting heard around town. Her heart was full with God's love, family and friendships. Bonnie is survived by her children Daniel, Samuel (Susan), Timothy (Tabitha), Sarah (Adam), Rebekah (Chris), Benjamin (Sarah), Joseph (Carolyn), Martha, Jonathan (Jamie), and grandchildren Rachel (John), Ryan, Matthew, Nathanael, Kaitlynn, Thomas, Claire, Brooke, Paige, Max, Douglas, Leo, Zoe, Tessa, Teddy, Cecily and Wesley. Predeceased by her parents and daughter-in-law Sue (Tim). Mom, Grandma B, thank you for everything you did for us, unconditionally. We heard there's an organist opening in heaven - you're a shoo-in. Our family welcomes all for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 23rd, 11:00am at Bethel Tabernacle, Elgin, ON. Memorial Donations made to Bethel Tabernacle or Elgin United Church would be appreciated.
