Marion Janice Burnett, born January 18, 1940 in Bronxville, NY, the daughter of the late John Mitchell, Sr. and Marion Delaware Mitchell, departed this life on February 29, 2024 at her home in the Town of Greenburgh, New York where she resided over fifty years.


Marion “Janice” attended the public school system of Tuckahoe, New York. She was a graduate of New Rochelle High School in, New Rochelle, NY. Marion “Janice” attended The Westchester Business Institute, White Plains, NY where she studied Data Processing. She retired from AT&T after thirty-five years of service (never missing a day of work). She was also a Licensed Real Estate Agent with Independent Referral Consultants, Inc. of Wayne, NJ. She attended Shiloh Baptist Church, Tuckahoe, NY and Redeeming Love Christian Center (RLCC) of Nanuet, NY. Marion “Janice” was an avid shopper and she enjoyed traveling (inside and outside of the country).


She is survived by her husband Aron Donwell Burnett of Greenburgh, NY; daughter Marion J. Mitchell of Atlanta, GA; two grandsons: Devin Dandridge (Dr. Jendai Richards) of Frederiksted, St. Croix USVI, and Deric Dandridge (Raven) of Powder Springs, GA; two great grandsons: Ayron Dandridge of New Orleans, LA, and Bakari Dandridge, of Powder Springs, GA; and two great granddaughters: London Broderick of Frederiksted, St. Croix USVI, and Kayliyah Marie Dandridge of Powder Springs, GA. Marion “Janice” also leaves a host of family, friends and loved ones to cherish her memory.

ATTENTION: As we continue to phase back into smaller capacity public visitations/services amid the continuing COVID & other various health concerns, we need your help in limiting/controlling the number of people, so please govern yourself accordingly for the health & safety of all. Thank you so kindly!


A WALK-THRU Wake/Viewing/Visitation will be held on Friday March 8th, 2024 from 12:00-1:00PM, followed by Funeral Service at 1:00 PM, with limited seating due to COVID & other health considerations. There is a MAXIMUM CAPACITY of 80 people at funeral home at any time, And MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. So you must come to the funeral home WITH YOUR OWN MASK ON ALREADY to attend the Wake, with your masks on inside at ALL times. At the very least you can get hand sanitizer & sign the register book (NOTE: please feel free to bring your own pen), and WALK-THRU to briefly greet the family. If not at capacity, you will be allowed in to have a seat; but if at capacity by the time you get here, you may be required to leave the premises after signing register book, so as not to be in violation nor cause a health hazard, so please govern yourself accordingly. Regardless of if you're able to enter/be seated, or not, social distancing MUST be maintained (please refrain from touching/hugging/handshaking, preferably just elbow bumping briefly if at all). If instructed, PLEASE KINDLY RESPECTFULLY leave the building & premises if at our capacity at any time. PLEASE KINDLY RESPECTFULLY follow & abide by the directions of the funeral home & cemetery staff/personnel at all times. If you know you have/are under quarantine because of a coronavirus/COVID-19; are sick/experiencing symptoms of coronavirus/COVID-19; are immuno-compromised and/or have health/other conditions that make your body more susceptible to illness, please do NOT attend any services nor come into our funeral home. Please feel free to bring & use your own pen for signing the family's register book - you are encouraged to please BRING & use your own PEN for signing. Please follow & abide by the rules of our funeral home, and directions of the funeral home staff at all times. You may send flowers, and/or as a lasting tribute you may choose to plant a tree in her name/memory/honor, and/or a contribution may be made in her name/memory/honor to a charity of your choice. If sending flowers, they may be delivered on either Thursday March 7th, 2024 by/before 6:00PM to Lee's Funeral Home; or Friday March 8th by/before 11:45AM to Lee's Funeral Home.
