George Lund

<p>George Lund, 87, of Monroe Township, NJ passed away peacefully, surrounded by family Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro. Born in Jamaica, Queens and raised in Gillette, NJ, George worked as a grocery clerk in numerous Pathmark and Shoprite stores around the central New Jersey area. He was also a landscaper where he took pride in planting flowers and trees to make his and others yards look beautiful. George was an avid fisherman and took great pleasure in spending time near the water. He also cherished his time travelling with his family, visiting spots around the world. He will be missed tremendously.</p><p>Son of the late William and Vilma Lund, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy (nee Jensen). He was a devoted father to Kenneth and his wife Pam, Tamara Nichols and her husband John, Todd and his wife Virginia and the treasured grandfather of 10 grandchildren Nicholas, Collin, Todd, Paul (wife Abigail), Jessica, Tucker, Hayden, Brian, Victoria and James and 1 great grandchild, Kingsley. He was dearly loved by his siblings June, William (deceased), Velma, Christian and Alma and as well as many nieces and nephews.</p><p>Friends and family may call on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 10:00 am at Barlow &amp; Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520 with a funeral service starting at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Brainerd Cemetery, Cranbury.</p>
