Joseph “Eugene” Landers, 72 of Charleston died March 4, 2024 in the Hubbard Hospice Unit at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by wife: Alice Marie Fitzwater Landers, son: Joseph Eugene Landers Jr., stepson: Paul Wayne Elswick Jr. and parents: Otis and Hazel Milam Landers.

Surviving are daughters: Lisa Jean Landers, Patricia Dawn Burdette and Elizabeth Elswick all of Charleston, brother: Kenneth (Patricia) Landers of Charleston, sisters: Betty Carter, Maisie Gibson, Tiny Burdette and Ruby Payne all of Sissonville, grandchildren: Anna Nacole Burdette, Raymond Lee Spencer II, Conner Joseph Paul, Andrew and Zion Elswick and Phyllis Jean, Sharon and Josh.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet is in charge of arrangements.
