Angeline "Angie" Charlotte Pavelka Obituary

We are saddened to announce that Angeline “Angie” Charlotte Pavelka of Alamogordo, NM passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024. Angie was born on October 29, 1934, in Westerly, RI to James J. Vetelino and Filomena Vetelino and was the oldest sister of seven children. She graduated from Westerly High School and could always be found helping her father in his shoe shop and helping raise her younger siblings. She met Edward J. Pavelka, an air traffic controller in the U.S. Navy, and they married on June 21, 1958, in Westerly, RI before moving to Las Cruces, NM, and finally settling in Alamogordo, NM. She could always be found with her beautiful smile and positive personality in the office of Ed’s Flying Service offering treats and goodies to the patrons of the airport while handling the accounting and other duties of the family business. Angie was a devout Catholic and was also a greeter for St. Jude Parish for over 20 years.

Angie was preceded in death by her mother and father; two grandchildren, David Joseph and Lindsey Phoenix; her husband, Edward. She is survived by her two children, Robert E. (and Cindy) of the family home and Lisa P. (and Jeffrey) of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, April of Salt Lake City, UT, Dylan of Cambridge, MA, and Devin of Los Angeles, CA; as well as her six siblings, James (Sharon), Frank (Jane), Charlotte, Linda (Pesky), Lawrence (Janet), and Patricia (James).

Services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at St. Jude Parish, 1404 College Ave., Alamogordo, NM 88310. Rosary will be recited at 10:15 am with Mass celebrated at 11:00 am followed by inurnment. The family welcomes friends and loved ones in celebrating Angie’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to St. Jude Parish in memory of Angeline Pavelka. Condolences can be shared at www.alamogordofuneralhome.org. The family expresses gratitude for the support and kindness during this difficult time.

The Pavelka family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
