Billy Ray Boyd

Graveside service for Mr. Billy Ray Boyd, 74, of Gilmer, will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2018, 11:00 AM at Grice Cemetery with Bro. Brian McCormick officiating. Family will receive friends Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 9:00 until 10:30 AM at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Boyd passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 in Gilmer. Billy was born in Liberal, KS on February 13, 1944. He married the love of his life, Effie Wade on November 6, 1969 in Houston. Mr. Boyd was a supervisor for Borden Milk Company for many years and was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Gilmer. He is survived by his loving wife, Effie Boyd of Gilmer; daughter, Kathie Peters and husband Harold; brother, Robin Fowler; sister, Sharon McSwain and husband Cliff; grandchildren, Christopher Matthew Peters and wife Brittany and Jennifer Nicole Veil and husband Derrick. Billy is preceded in death by his mother and step father, Geneva and Roy Fowler; and brother, Gerald Fowler. The family of Mr. Billy Boyd would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice Connections, Cammie and Susan for the excellent care they provided.
