Millinocket – Roger Joseph Tardiff, 72, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 2, 2024. He was born November 18, 1951, in Fort Kent, the son of Joseph Lucien and Marie Regina (Raymond) Tardiff.

Roger grew up in Millinocket, and moved to Plainville, Connecticut in 1966, graduating from Plainville High School, class of 1971. Following graduation he enlisted in the Marine Corps, serving in a two-year tour. Roger was a Christian man, devoted father of seven, loved hiking – having climbed Mt. Katahdin twice. In the early 2000’s he backpacked across Europe. He was a hard worker and talented welder, and enjoyed wood crafting and felling trees in the forest. Roger loved singing, especially the music of Hank Williams and classic country music. He was a communicant of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Millinocket.

Roger is survived by seven children, Shannon Tardiff, James Tardiff, Jason Tardiff, Jennifer Reynolds, Clayton Tardiff, Kelly Tardiff, and Amy Tardiff; six grandchildren, Leonardo Longhi, Logan Simoes, David Deliz, Hayley Deliz, Kaydence Deliz, and Lasinda Deliz; a brother Gerald Tardiff; two sisters Diana Uyematsu Tardiff and Ann Marie Tardiff; the mothers of his children Kathy Reimer Tardiff and Joan Wright Tardiff; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by his loving girlfriend Eileen James, three brothers Joseph Lucien Tardiff, Jr. Robert Tardiff and Michael Tardiff, and a sister Carol Tenukas Tardiff.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 PM Thursday, March 7 at the Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack Street, Millinocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated later in the spring, and interment, with military honors, will be at the Millinocket Cemetery.
