John J. Mackey
<p>MACKEY, Dr. John J. “Joe” of Winchester passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 3, 2024. Joe was the beloved husband of Andrea G. Mackey of Winchester. Loving father of Jack, Thomas, Connor, Katherine and Caroline Mackey. Cherished son of Carmel and Desmond Mackey of Ontario, Canada and son in law of Barbara and Charles Gulino. Devoted brother of Anita Mackey and husband Michael Shaen, Karen Brown and husband Simon, Jane Bedford and husband Andrew, and Nancy Mackey and her partner Richard Kearney. Joe cherished each one of his many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws and will be missed by all. Joe was a devoted doctor who touched the lives of many with his exceptional care and compassion. He fought a courageous six-year battle against cancer during which he was the embodiment of selflessness and strength. He was an endless caregiver and will be remembered by his friends and colleagues for his kindness and ever positive attitude. However, Joe’s biggest accomplishment was the devotion and love he gave to his family, of whom he was enormously proud. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Eulalia Church, 50 Ridge St., WINCHESTER on Saturday, March 23rd at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will be private. Please join the family for a Celebration of Joe’s life immediately following the Mass at the Winchester Country Club, 468 Mystic Street, Winchester.
