Donna T Kelley

<p>Donna Tolson Kelley of Hartfield, passed away peacefully with family at her bedside on March 1, 2024 to cross the river and rest beneath the shade of the trees. She was a warrior who fought bravely until the end. She was born on March 31, 1950 in Washington, DC and was raised by her loving parents in Clifton, Virginia.</p><p><br></p><p>Donna was a devoted and affectionate wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, sister and friend. Her kindness and love touched everyone who knew her. She had a warmly infectious smile and a gentle spirit that radiated love and compassion. Donna treasured time spent with her family and friends; especially her children and grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>Donna worked as a dental assistant over the years for several area dentists which she found enjoyably challenging. She was very engaged in local volunteer activities which included Chesapeake Academy, the Animal Welfare League and the YMCA. She loved to dance and would gracefully shake a tail feather on the dance floor; her dance card was always full. Donna also loved to enhance her summer tan by mowing the lawn and working in her garden.</p><p><br></p><p>Donna was predeceased by her parents, Donald Colvin Tolson and Doris Gawen Tolson. She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Christopher Patterson Kelley and her two children, Brent Patterson Kelley (Paige Whiteside) and Erin Kelley Crump (Wesley); her grandchildren Georgia Zeller Kelley, Charles Henry Parker Kelley, Grace Rosser Crump and Ava Patterson Crump. She is also survived by her two sisters, Dale Ann DiMisa and Deborah Tolson Adams (Terry) as well as five nieces and two great nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>A memorial service to celebrate Donna's life will be held at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock on March 20, 2024 at 2:00 pm. The family would like to thank Dr. Seaborn Wade and his staff at the Virginia Cancer Institute, Visiting Angels and the nursing staff at Memorial Regional Hospital for their extraordinarily compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Animal Welfare League, Chesapeake Academy or the American Cancer Society.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
