<p>Janette Harmon, beloved daughter of the late Catherine and Robert L. Hall, Sr., was born on September 8, 1944 in Hopeton, Virginia. </p><p><br></p><p>“Gent,” as she was affectionately known by family and friends, was educated in the Accomack County Public School System. After graduating from high school, she pursued a nursing career. However, due to her love for family, she decided to come back home. She was employed at Holly Farms (Tyson Foods) for over 20 years. </p><p><br></p><p>On December 8, 1965, Janette married the love of her life, Edward Harmon. This union was blessed with two children, Tonya Harmon Alexander and Eric Antonio Harmon. </p><p><br></p><p>Janette was a member of New Metompkin Baptist Church in Parksley, Virginia. In earlier years, she served on the Usher Board and was a member of the Leroy Mapp Singers. </p><p><br></p><p>In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping and watching QVC. She also enjoyed dining out, traveling and fellowshipping with friends and family.</p><p><br></p><p>Janette departed this life on March 3, 2024 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro, North Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Harmon; son, Eric Harmon; brothers, William Hall and Chester Hall; and brothers-in-law, William Matthews and Thomas Roberts. </p><p><br></p><p>Janette is survived by her daughter, Tonya Alexander of Goldsboro, NC; four grandchildren, Dontrel George, Brandon George, Erykah Harmon, and Lanazja Alexander; seven great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Vicky Harmon; sisters, Phyllis Hall, Patricia Roberts, and Shirley Mason; brothers, Robert Hall, Jr. (Deborah), James Hall, Sr. (Lolita), and Thomas Riley, Sr. (Arlene); sisters-in-law, Rhonda Hall and Shirley Bunting; special family and friends, Laneen Sample, Orchell Brown, Kecia Warner, Nancy Harmon, Ruth Trader, Ada Bell, Arlene Purnell, Wayne Hall, Betty Reid, and Chestina West; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.</p>
