<p><p>Brian Keith Long, 56, Lawrence, Kansas passed away Saturday March 2nd, 2024 in his home. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024 with a Celebration of Life to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S. Webster, Spring Hill, Kansas (913) 592-2244.</p><p>Brian was born on February 17, 1968 in Shawnee Mission, Kansas to Terry and Connie (Kline) Long. He grew up in Spring Hill and graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1986. He was an all around athlete, played every sport in high school, but his passion was baseball. After high school he attended Highland Community College&nbsp; on a baseball scholarship and then walked on to play at San Diego State. Brian worked at Sweet/McCray Lumber Company for 20 years as one of the top lumber salesman.&nbsp;</p><p>Brian was an avid sports fans, his favorites being the Green Bay Packers, Texas Longhorns, the Royals, and an honorary Chiefs fan for his Mom. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and all things outdoors. Brian was very skilled in restoring old cast iron skillets, a hobby he thoroughly loved. His family wants him to be remembered for his kind heart and witty personality.</p><p>Brian is survived by his son Jake Long; daughter Melanie Long; parents Terry and Connie Long; sister Tracy and her husband Brent Bell; his niece McKinsey Kellerman and her son Jaxson; his nephew Preston Bell and his daughter Hadley.&nbsp;</p><p>Memorial contributions may be made in honor of his son Jake to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.&nbsp; Condolences may be left at&nbsp;<a href="http://www.brucefuneralhome.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">www.brucefuneralhome.com</a></p></p>
