<p>Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point for Charles Ray Dugas who passed away on February 29, 2024 at the age of 83. He was born on August 31, 1940 to Claude Dugas of Scott, LA and Elvie Estilette Dugas of Church Point, LA. Charles has been a lifetime resident of Church Point, LA.</p><p> </p><p>Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of Our Lady of The Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lafayette.</p><p>The family has requested visitation to be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 9:00 A.M. until time of services all in the Duhon Funeral Home in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited on Saturday at 11 o’clock in the Funeral Home Chapel.</p><p> </p><p>He is survived by his brother, Kenneth and wife Judi Dugas of Lafayette, his niece, and Godchild, Gwen Bertrand, and husband, Phillip Bertrand of Lafayette, LA.; his nieces, Ellen Stutes and husband, Sonny Stutes of Judice, Rachelle Hazlett and husband, Charles Hazlett of Mire; one nephew Dwayne Dugas of Carencro; great, nieces, Ann-Elise, and husband , Jacob Fresneda, of New Orleans, Kacky, and husband, Zach Meaux of Lafayette, Matty Bertrand of New Orleans; nephews, Ben Bertrand and Philip Bertrand of Lafayette; great-great nieces, Penelop of New Orleans, and Ruthie and Murphy Meaux both of Lafayette; He also leaves behind his long time property manager, Pat Olivier and is caretakers, Carla Olivier, Tina Gillard, and Jacque Quebedeaux.</p><p> </p><p>He is preceded in death by his father, Claude Dugas, his mother, Elvie Estilette Dugas and his wife, Norma Janise Dugas, of Church Point, LA and his longtime caregiver companion, Ruby Johnson.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>You may view the obituary, sign the guest registry, and express condolences online to Mr. Dugas’s family at www.duhonfuneralhome.com or Duhon Funeral Home, LLC (337) 684-5552.</p><p> </p>Obituary
