Andrew J. Voinski

Dr. Andrew J. Voinski, 74, of Clarks Green passed away peacefully at home on Monday March 4, 2024. He and his wife, Diane (Carlonas), were set to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this year.

Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late John and Martha Voinski. A graduate of Scranton Central High School and a proud graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and its School of Dental Medicine; he practiced dentistry in his Green Ridge and Carbondale offices since 1975.

Drew was a compassionate dentist while always being an active member of the community throughout his life. He was past President of the Scranton Dental Society; former Board Member Scranton Chamber of Commerce; President and Charter member of the Pitt Golden Panthers of Northeastern PA; recipient of the University of Pittsburgh “Golden Panther of the Year” award; former basketball Coach at Our Lady of Peace School; Charter Board Member of Northeastern Baseball which brought AAA minor league baseball to the area; former Scranton W/B Yankees Team Dentist; lifelong member of the Country Club of Scranton; parishioner of St. Gregory’s Church; and a passionate fan of Pittsburgh sports.

Drew was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his daughter Lori Nixon (Wade), Pittsburgh, and his son John (Kristi), New York City; grandsons Grayson and Brooks Nixon; Marilyn and Ron Carlonas (sister and brother-in-law); and several nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Richard Carlonas and his in-laws Walter and Irene Carlonas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 am in the Church of

St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green. All attending the mass are kindly asked to proceed directly to church. Family and friends may pay their respects Thursday from 5-7 pm in the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to
