Gordon Frederick King

April 10, 1938 – March 3, 2024

Victoria Cove, Newfoundland

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Gordon King of Victoria Cove, a much-loved husband, father, and grandfather. Age 85 years.

Predeceased by parents, Emily and Frederick King; parents-in-law Matilda and Walter Gillingham; only brother Marshall (Gladys).

Leaving to mourn with precious and loving memories, wife of 59 years, Ivy, sons, Kevin (Myra), Gary; grandchildren Michael (Amelia), Amanda (Andrew), Monica; great granddaughter Chloe King. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and cherished friends.

He faced many health challenges over the past 30 years that greatly limited his activities, but he accepted it with grace and patience, rarely complained and was always welcoming to whoever dropped by for a visit.

We, the Family would like to extend our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses and staff at the Health Sciences Complex, St. John’s who cared for Gordon and to family and friends who have sent love and support. We are especially grateful to the PCA staff from Tiffany Village who faithfully assisted with Gordon’s daily care when he was in hospital.

Service will be at a later date.
