<p>Charles Lee Ray 87, of Black Mountain, died March 1, 2024 at Care Partners Solace Center in Asheville. Mr. Ray was born in Princeton, WV in Mercer County. </p><p>He served in the US Marine Corps and attended Concord College in Athens, WV and Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, FL. </p><p>Mr. Ray worked at Northrup, Honeywell and Martin Marietta over the years, eventually becoming owner and broker at CR Realty in Black Mountain. </p><p>He enjoyed golf and was an active member of the Black Mountain Golf Course. Charles was also a music lover and collected old LPs. </p><p>Mr. Ray was the son of the late Jarvie Lee and Clarice Price Ray of Princeton, WV. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Brad Lee Ray; grandson, Daniel Lee Ray; and sister, Freda Wimmer. </p><p>Surviving are his daughter, Diana Wright and husband, Marty of Swannanoa; granddaughter, Anne Wright of Swannanoa; brother, Thomas Ray and wife, Carol of Rockmart, GA and several nieces and nephews. </p><p>A service will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Black Mountain on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 12:00 noon.</p><p><br></p>

Charles Lee Ray 87, of Black Mountain, died March 1, 2024 at Care Partners Solace Center in Asheville. Mr. Ray was born in Princeton, WV in Mercer County.
