Evelyn N. Baratta passed away March 2, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born Sept. 5, 1934, in New York City and lived most of her life in the Bronx.

She earned both her bachelor and master’s degrees from New York University and was a vice president at the public relations firm Hill & Knowlton in New York City. She also worked in sales at Tiffany & Co. in New York City.

Evelyn’s hobbies included traveling, reading and singing. She was a member of the choir at St. Frances de Chantal Church in the Bronx and also volunteered at the Morgan Library & Museum in New York City.

She is survived by her brother, Joseph P. Baratta, and her sister-in-law, Carol; her nephew, Joseph A. Baratta, and his wife, Amy; her niece, Gina Matula, and her husband, Marc; two great-nephews, Alexander Baratta and Logan Matula; and a great-niece, Caroline Baratta.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Disabled American Veterans or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
