ALMONTE, Giuseppe

It is with profound sadness that the family of Giuseppe Almonte announces his peaceful passing on February 28th 2024 at the age of 88 years old, surrounded by his family. Loving father to Cecilia (Mark) De Panfilis, Dominic (Diana) Almonte and Joe Almonte. Loving nonno to Vincent, Jessica, Lisa, Justin and Anthony. Loving great grandfather to Mila and Elio. Giuseppe immigrated from Abruzzo, Italy (Pettorano sul Gizio) in 1960 to start his family. Giuseppe worked hard at Stelco for 32 years to give his children all the opportunities he never had. In 1998, Giuseppe happily retired to enjoy 27 years with his family and friends. Giuseppe loved gardening and was an avid bocce player. Always loved spending time with his grandchildren and was very proud of them. Our father enjoyed retirement living at Chartwell Deerview Retirement Home with his wife Maria, and spent his final days at Extendicare Hamilton, where he was surrounded by love and comfort. Special thanks to the Hamilton General Hospital Cardiac Care Unit for the comfort and care he received. You will always be treasured forever in our memory. A private family service has been held with entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. If so desired, donations to Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated.
