Doris Onise Edwards, 94, of Connersville went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, February 29, 2024 at Caroleton Manor.

She was born July 26, 1929 in Manchester, Kentucky, one of fourteen children of John and Creasie Smith Brumley.

Throughout her life, Doris was a very talented vocalist and performed with many vocal artists, one of her vocal highlights was performing at the Grand Old Opray.

While performing in Cincinnati, Ohio, she met the love of her life Julius “Jack” Edwards, they married June 10, 1953 and moved to Connersville. Doris was employed at Ford/Visteon for 40 years before retiring. Mr. Edwards passed away September 10, 2010.

Doris has been a member of Calvery Baptist Church and attended Grandview Word of Life on Grand Avenue. In her leisure time, she enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, and serving the Lord.

Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Sue (Rodney) Kemp and Tammie Lee (Byron) Payton all of Connersville; two grandchildren, Kelly (Mike) Logan of New Castle, Indiana, Tyler (Stephanie Chippeaux) Kemp of Wichita, Kansas; three great-grandchildren, Cody Campbell, Savannah Logan, and Isabelle Logan; three siblings, Luther Brumley of Kentucky, John C. Brumley of Sommerset, Kentucky, Lorene Shepard of London, Kentucky; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her husband of 57 years, she was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and four sisters.

Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Minister Lisa Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
