Marilyn Elizabeth Perricone Obituary

Marllyn Elizabeth Perricone October 13, 1945 - February 21, 2024 It is with overwhelming sadness that our Marilyn has passed in her new home in Estero, Florida after a long battle with cancer. Marilyn Elizabeth Perricone (née Icken) was a beloved wife to Phil, mother to Rob Imparato (Rita) and Chris (passed in 2016), sister to Andy Icken (Maylynn) and Bill (Viola) and a friend to all. She is also survived by her lovely granddaughters, Madison and Ainsley, her many nieces and nephews and countless friends and her dog Charlie, who all miss her dearly. She is predeceased by Chris, her parents, Eiizabeth and Andrew Icken, and her stepfather The Rev. Herman “Duke” Schramm. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Marilyn graduated from Glen Cove High School before enrolling at the State University of New York at Potsdam. Her post-college life took her to various locales across the United States before she married Phil on Long Island in 1978 with Rob as their best man. Marilyn, Phil and Rob then spent three years in Virginia and welcomed Chris into their family. The family relocated to Wall, New Jersey, where she and Phil resided for 42 years before moving to Florida in October 2023. She was instrumental in the success of their companies Consumers Marine Electronics, based in Wall, and CWR Electronics, now in Bayville, New Jersey. Marilyn loved to cook and entertain, filling her calendar with parties, barbecues, clam bakes and the like, always doing everything herself with no caterers (except twice!). Baking was also her passion, and she ensured that the family favorite, chocolate chip cookies, were available at all times (she would even sneak a bag of cookies into Rob's luggage to bring home whenever he visited!). Following the sale of the company, Marilyn became known for her philanthropy, donating time and money to many different charities in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. She always said, “keep it local”. Accordingly, Marilyn was integral to the establishment of The Perricone Cancer Center for Women and The Christopher Center For Mental Health And Wellness (named after Chris following his death), both located in the Hope Tower and Jersey Shore University Medical Center. While we have lost our angel of caring here on earth, she is now officially one in heaven. Marilyn was vivacious, compassionate, empathetic and generous, and although she is already sorely missed, her legacy shall continue in the lasting impact she made on others. Funeral arrangements and cremation were private. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in New Jersey. Donations in Marilyn’s name to the charity of your choice or to Jersey Shore University Medical Center are greatly appreciated. Condolences and donations may be sent, if desired, to: Jersey Shore University Medical Center Foundation Attn: Paul Huegel 343 Thornall Street, 7th Floor Edison, NJ 08837
