Michael H Debs Obituary

Michael H. Debs, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on February 26, 2024, at the age of 87. He was born on September 26, 1936, to Charles Debs and June Debs nee Seravitz.

Michael was a loving husband to Audrey Debs (nee Aloff), and later found love again with Joan Debs (nee Kasper), who preceded him in death. He also leaves behind his cherished life partner, Cecile Zabielski and family who was a significant part of his life.

Michael's family was his pride and joy. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Beth Cohen (Debs, Husband Larry Cohen), his beloved son, Jeffrey Debs, and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored him. His grandchildren include Ashley Cohen-Isaacson, Justin Cohen, Abby Cohen, Jake Debs, Austin Debs, Hillary Debs, Aric Isaacson, and Corey Cohen. He was blessed with great-grandchildren Ethan Isaacson, Ezra Isaacson, Kyle Cohen, and Cameron Cohen.

Michael had a gift for bringing laughter into the lives of those around him. His sense of humor was infectious, and he always found joy in making people laugh. He loved to sing, especially in the shower, and his rendition of "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" was a family favorite. The family will forever hold onto this song as a cherished memory of him, sharing stories and passing on his legacy to future generations.

Michael had a passion for the outdoors, particularly camping, and spent countless summers taking his grandchildren on adventures in the great outdoors. His love for fishing was legendary, and he was known for reeling in the biggest catches with his skill and expertise. He also had a sweet tooth for frozen Dunkin Donuts coffee drinks, which he enjoyed indulging in.

Michael's family extended beyond his immediate household. He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara Apfel (husband Michael Apfel) and Marcia Dubin (husband Donald Dubin), many nieces and nephews who mourn his passing alongside his wider circle of family and friends.

Michael was also a devoted traveler, finding solace and excitement on the open road. He worshipped the sun and found joy in every mile traveled. Some of the family's fondest memories were made during their camping trips and road adventures.

Michael H. Debs will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

In honoring Michael's memory, In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society in his honor.

May Michael rest in peace, knowing that he brought immeasurable happiness to those around him and left behind a legacy of love and laughter that will endure for generations to come.
