Wendy was predeceased by her sisters, Maureen Dumouchel and June Sloan; niece, Heidi Hicks; and nephews, Peter Bostwick and Charlie Brewer.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Leo Fritze and Jacqueline (Henry) McDermott. Wendy was educated in Worcester, and graduated from North High School. She also graduated from the Salter School to further her education and from there, began her career as a Payroll Clerk for UMASS Chan Medical School. Wendy retired from UMASS three years ago, but stayed on as a post-retiree.

Wendy had also worked at the College of the Holy Cross for a number of years, where she could mainly be found in the Book Store. She was an important member of the Main South Alliance for Public Safety, alongside Billy.

In her free time, Wendy enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, and playing Bingo, but most of all, she cherished time spent with her kids and beloved grandkids. She never missed a game, and could be found at every sporting event rooting them on. Wendy was the best Nana, and their best cheerleader. She will be deeply missed and loved forever, as her legacy lives on.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Ways to Give
