<p>Dorothy Jean (Miller) Sawyer, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years. She was born on November 30, 1938, in Coweta, Oklahoma to parents, Homer Robert Miller and Rachel (Reed) Miller. </p><p>A graduate of Coweta High School, Dorothy went on to apply her skills as a diligent solderer at a local manufacturing plant, where her work ethic and camaraderie were well-regarded by all who worked alongside her. Her dedication to her role was only outshined by her devotion to her loved ones. </p><p>Dorothy was a treasured member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Coweta, where her faith and fellowship were profound sources of comfort and joy throughout her life. Her interests reached beyond the church doors to a love for the silver screen, particularly watching "The Ten Commandments." She was an avid fan of motocross and wrestling. Creativity flowed through Dorothy's veins; she expressed her artistry through crocheting and painting, leaving behind beautiful pieces that her family will cherish as symbols of her enduring spirit. </p><p>Dorothy's legacy is continued by her loving daughters, Kay Meadows and her husband David, and Rebecca Walker; her adoring grandchildren, JD Meadows and wife Becky, Cory Miller and wife Tracy, Jerri Rogers, Brandon Walker and companion Amanda Neal, Brandi Rojas and husband Cliford, Casey Walker, and John Rogers; her cherished great-grandchildren, Skylar, Jordyn, Gavin, AaDen, Charlotte, and Madilyn; her brothers, Carl Miller and his wife Erna, Lawrence Miller and his wife Ernie; and her sisters, Wilma Berryhill and her husband Mike, and Eva Gay. </p><p>Dorothy rejoins in eternal rest her parents, her beloved spouse, James Samuel Sawyer, her son, James Robert, daughter, Georgia Ann, her brother, Foxxy, and sisters, Joyce Ann and Mary Weegie. </p><p>With her passing, the light of Dorothy Jean Sawyer's love, and kind spirit continues to glow in the hearts of those who knew her, leaving a legacy of warmth and devotion that will not be forgotten. </p><p>Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma. Services to Celebrate her Life will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma, officiated by Gary Leach.
