Margaret Connolly Obituary

QUINCY: Margaret P. Connolly, 88, passed away February 29, 2024 following an illness. She leaves her husband of 60 years, Patrick Connolly, her daughter Ann Marie Foley and grandchildren children Robert and Caileen Foley. She was predeceased by her 5 siblings and her son-in-law Robert Foley.


Margaret was born April 14, 1935 in Killavoggy Co. Leitrim, Ireland, daughter of the late Kathleen (McMorrow) and Patrick Hannon. She graduated from Commercial College in Sligo and then emigrated by boat to New York City in 1956. She worked as an Executive Assistant at Chase Manhattan Bank on Wall Street and ultimately retired from the Bank of Boston.


She lived her life with her faith close to her heart, with a warmth and love for her family, especially her grandchildren and was known for her feisty nature and fierce competitiveness. Her quick Irish wit was known and adored by all those around her. Margaret played the accordion, Irish music and dance were some of her many passions. She enjoyed knitting and was an avid sports fan, she especially loved watching her grandchildren compete.


A prayer service for Margaret will be held Friday March 8th at 11am at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536 followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery in Grafton.
