Norman Eugene Ward

Norman Eugene Ward, age 86, of Honaker, Virginia passed away Friday (March 1, 2024) in a Grundy, Virginia hospital. Born May 9, 1937 in Virginia, he was a son of the late Cosby Stiltner. A lifelong resident of the area, he attended Perkins Chapel in Swords Creek and Honaker Church of God. He had been employed as a truck driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Street Ward; one son, Rev. Randall Ward; one daughter, Elizabeth Diane Ray; and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters, Susie Fields and husband, Larry, Patricia Hess and husband, Bill and Faye Harris and husband, Darrell; two sons, Ricky Ward and wife, Teresa and Jeff Ward and wife, Laura; thirteen grandchildren, Scottie Farmer, Jeremiah Ward, Keisha Rose, Amanda Moose, Brian Street, Tyre Ward, Amy Ward, Cindy Ward, Aaron Ray, Stephanie Harris, Alice Casey, Jonathan Harris and Jarred Goins; a special friend, Shelby Miller and eleven great-grandchildren also survive.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Heritage Hall in Grundy for the wonderful care they provided.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with his grandson, Jeremiah Ward and Rev. Johnny Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitt Cemetery at Drill, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Scottie Farmer, Brian Street, Jonathan Harris, Jeremiah Ward, Aaron Ray and Jarred Goins.

The family will receive friends at Honaker Funeral Home from Noon until 1 PM Sunday.
