<p>Presbytera Effie (Eutechia) Nikolopoulos, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2024. She was the wife of the late Rev. Fr. Nikolaos Nikolopoulos who passed away in 1994. </p><p><br></p><p>Effie was born in Filiatra, Messenia on February 11, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Anastasios and Panagiota (Stavropoulou) Kanavos. She immigrated to the United States with her family in 1954. In May 1956, she married Nikolaos at the Holy Cross Chapel in Brookline and, after his ordination to the priesthood, they were assigned to Holy Trinity in Norwich CT. Subsequently, they served in the following parishes: St. Vasilios - Peabody, MA; Sts. Constantine &amp; Helen - Webster, MA and finally St. Katherine in Melbourne, FL. </p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by her daughter, Theodora Stathopoulos of Dracut, MA, her daughter and son-in-law Ann and Antonios Stamatis of Merrimack, NH and her grandchildren, Demetre Stamatis and his fiancée Paige, Nicholas Stamatis, Michael Stamatis and his fiancée Kathleen and JennaMaria Almas and her husband Brandon. She is also survived her sisters Georgia Georgopoulos and her husband Christos, Kanella Papadopoulos and her husband John, sisters-in-law Georgia Kanavos and Vasiliki Sarantopoulos and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends here and in Greece. </p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her parents, Effie is predeceased by her son-in-law Efstathios Stathopoulos and her siblings, Magdalene Kontogiannopoulos and Fotios Kanavos. </p><p><br></p><p>Her funeral services and interment will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made in her name to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, either by mail to 62 Lewis St. Lowell, MA 01854 or, on-line at holytrinitylowell.com.</p>
