Marguerite K. Dietz Obituary

Marguerite ‘Meg’ Kalapos Dietz June 12, 1956 - February 17, 2024

Marguerite ‘Meg’ Kalapos Dietz passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family members on February 17, 2024. Meg was born on June 12, 1956, to Robert and Clare Kalapos in Trenton, NJ, where her families’ roots were established. In 1971, responding to changing times, her family moved from the city to the suburbs of Maple Glen, PA. After graduating from Upper Dublin High School in 1974, Meg attended the University of Richmond in VA, forming lifelong friendships along the way. During a summer job at a design studio in Jenkintown, PA, Meg met her future husband, Jared Dietz. They married in 1977 and spent several years embracing a free-spirited lifestyle. In 1986, while anticipating their first child, Meg and Jared settled down and purchased a home in the historic district of Doylestown, PA. Meg’s openness and warmth made it the place to be for the next 34 years. She was an exceptional mother, gifting her sons Zach and Cal with the wisdom, skills, and tools that shaped them into the outstanding men they are today.

As the eldest of five siblings, Meg started taking on the role of family matriarch as a young teenager. Her compassion, caring nature, and boundless love never stopped growing. Everyone Meg talked to felt important and listened to, and everyone she ever met loved her.She was satisfied in the simplest of moments and amazed by the smallest things. She loved philosophy, poetry, nature, art, and above all, her family. Movies and music brought her immense joy, and she laughed and delighted easily. Meg had powerful charisma, charm and beauty. She was creative and cool. Meg was truly special. She will never be forgotten.

As the spirit of Meg lives on in the dragonfly, her spirit animal, take a moment to say hello whenever you encounter one.

Meg is survived by her husband Jared Dietz, sons Zach Dietz and Cal Dietz, his wife Lisa Dietz and Meg’s siblings, Matthew Kalapos, his wife Michele, Stephanie Bernstiel, her husband Bruce, and Kal Wysokowski, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Meg was preceded in passing by her beloved brother Rob Kalapos and parents Robert and Clare Kalapos.

Donations in Meg’s memory may be made to Nova Thrift Shop, 2116 Broad St. Perkasie PA or https://novabucks.org/donate/
